“Tabcorp will join forces with many racing and sporting partners to deliver benefits to our customers, who will be rewarded for their loyalty to the NSW TAB,” said Tabcorp’s General Manager of Wagering Marketing, Ian Mackay.

“The NSW TAB is a trusted and iconic brand that provides entertainment to its customers across a range of channels. Our customers will now get more benefits for betting with the NSW TAB through their free membership in The Number 1 Club.

“Tabcorp has conducted extensive research with punters who resoundingly called for a simple and free program that enhances their involvement in racing and sport.

“Racing is not just a part of the sport or gambling industry; it is part of the broader leisure and entertainment industry. We need to continue to find ways to appeal to new markets and reward and inspire existing customers.”

Existing NSW TAB account customers are automatically pre-enrolled as members of The Number 1 Club. New customers can enrol to join the program online, at TAB outlets or by telephone as per the normal TAB account opening process.

As well as earning rewards points customers also earn status credits which determine whether they sit within the Bronze, Silver or Gold status level. Each level brings greater rewards opportunities, as well as additional benefits.

Rewards points and status credits are earned from today through NSW TAB account betting (online, telephone, TAB Active and through bets placed on NSW TAB accounts on EBTs on course or in TAB outlets).

The NSW TAB will also offer regular bonus point promotions on products and services giving customers the chance to accelerate their points earning. As an extra reward for existing TAB account customers, these ‘Foundation members’ will receive 1000 bonus points on the month of their birthday.

The first galloper being raced by The Number 1 Club stable will be a Commands-Shanghai Moon colt. Leading Sydney trainer John O’Shea will prepare the impressive looking two-year-old.

“It’s a privilege to be training for The Number 1 Club,” O’Shea said. “I was excited when Champion Thoroughbreds secured the Commands-Shanghai Moon colt at this year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, as he is so strong and possesses a fluent action. He looks a great prospect for Number 1 Club Members.”

The first Greyhound member of the Number 1 Stable is the aptly named ‘Numero Uno Bale’ and will be trained by Brendan Wheeler. He is expected to be ready to race in just a few weeks time.

The TAB will secure more animals with NSW’s top trainers across all codes of racing over the coming months.
