TEN OF THE BEST FROM AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND TO COMPETE

THE country’s finest female jockeys will compete in the Pulse Pharmacy Ladies Invitational at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Female riders from Australia and New Zealand have been invited by the MVRC to compete in the $50,000 Invitational Race, run over the Tatts Cox Plate distance of 2040 metres.

The Ladies Championship was won by last year Nikita Beriman.

The final line-up for the 2009 Pulse Pharmacy Ladies Invitational is:

  • Sally Wynne, VIC

The field limit is 10 and rides for the jockeys will be drawn by lot by Racing Victoria Limited stewards at acceptance time.

Competing jockeys will receive a gift bag from Pulse Pharmacy, with the winner also to receive a magnificent prize hamper from Pulse Pharmacy including an Apple iPhone.

Other highlights on Pulse Pharmacy Girls’ Night Out will include a fun night dedicated to the ladies, with mini-makeovers and styling tips for the 2009 Spring Racing Carnival, live music, roving entertainment and a millinery hat making display with thanks to Spotlight.

Punters have the chance to win a $1,000 wardrobe by entering their details into a barrel draw on the night.  Guys can win a $1,000 voucher from Arthur Galan, and ladies a $1,000 voucher from designer Karen Millen.

MVRC will host two dining events on the night; the Ladies Dinner, including two course meal, and the Young Racegoers’ Cocktail Party, the place to be seen for all 18-25 year olds.

Tickets for both Friday’s Girls’ Night Out Ladies Dinner and Young Racegoers Cocktail Party have been selling fast and the club is expecting a large attendance on track.

Gates open 5:15pm with the first race scheduled for 6.45pm and the final race is at 10:15pm.   The Ladies Invitational will be Race 3 on the card.
