A SPECIAL meeting has reportedly been convened in Toowoomba today to discuss with jockeys and trainers concerns over the state of the new Clifford Park track.

Despite glowing reports from RQ Chairman Kevin Dixon and Toowoomba Turf Club chairman, Bob Frappell, on how justified the multi-million dollar investment has been, this website continues to hear reports to the contrary.

Stakeholders have been far from impressed with the way the new track has played at recent race meetings.

One of Queensland’s biggest owners, who had a runner at the midweek meeting last week, reportedly told the TTC Chairman in no mean terms that something needed to be done to correct the situation.

Trainers and jockeys might not be saying as much publicly but they are far from impressed by the condition of the track and we understand they will have an input along with the club and RQ at today’s meeting.

Their suggestion is that a certain official is having too much to say about what is happening with the track and should take a back-seat role and let those who know what they are doing contribute more.
