Kirklees, a winner at his last three overseas starts in top company, will be ridden by Kerrin McEvoy who admits the horse is weighted up to his best with 56kg.

THE battle for the 2009 Roy Higgins Medal is on in earnest with four jockeys equal on two wins after the first two days of the 2009 Caulfield Spring Racing Carnival with 17 races run and won so far. In all, 13 jockeys have ridden winners.

Inaugural Roy Higgins Medallist, Damien Oliver, is joined at the top of the leader board by Dan Nikolic, Michael Rodd and Nick Hall having ridden two winners each.
